15 years from date of last discharge or release from active duty if you were discharged before Jan. 1, 2013. If you were discharged after that date there is no expiration date.
How long is VA job?

Do VA benefits expire?
This depends on when you were discharged from active duty. If your service ended before January 1, 2013, your Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) benefits will expire 15 years after your last separation date from active service. You must use all of your benefits by that time or you’ll lose whatever’s left.
What time does VA deposit money?
Most employees can expect payroll direct deposit to arrive in their account at midnight the day prior to the pay date. And since direct deposit is not generally subject to a bank hold, you can begin using the money as soon as it arrives in your account.
